You’re not alone in your fascination with the stars. Astrology is one of the oldest systems of knowledge on the planet, and has been practiced and followed by some of the greatest civilizations in recorded history: those of the Indians, Chinese, Egyptians, Romans, Babylonians, Greeks, Tibetans, and Mayans to name a few. Many of the most profound intellectual thinkers of all time have held astrology in high regard, including Pythagoras, Dante, Kepler, Bacon, Galileo, Shakespeare (who commonly refers to it in many of his plays) and, more recently mega-banker J.P. Morgan who is quoted as saying, “Millionaires don’t consult astrology – billionaires do!”

The reason for all the hoopla, is that astrology works. But it is so much more complicated and vast than any horoscope or book can possibly reveal. I have studied and practiced the system of astrology of India, known as Vedic astrology, for the past fifteen years and I like to joke that knowing your Sun sign is about as revealing as describing your car by only looking at the engine. While the engine is the power source of the vehicle, it tells nothing about the comfort of the bucket seats, or the feel of the steering wheel, or the noise the driver’s side door makes when you drive over 60 mph. You see, to understand your car, you have to describe how all the pieces go together. A chart works the same way. Your entire astrological chart (which is like a snapshot of the sky the moment you are born, encompassing all of the planets and constellations) can help to illuminate all areas of your life and relationships – even predicting if and when you’ll marry.

This week on “Enlightening Relationships” I’m honored to introduce two of my mentors, William Levacy and Ernst Wilhelm, both highly respected Vedic astrologers, educators, researchers, and authors. In the first hour, William and I will discuss his new book, “Beneath a Vedic Sun – Discover Your Life Purpose with Vedic Astrology” in which he covers Vedic philosophy and how it relates to finding one’s true career, modern day career assessment principles and career building practices, as well as personality types that will enable you to better understand yourself and others. In the second hour, Ernst and I will explore the amazing astrological techniques of emotional/psychological compatibility that have been used in India for thousands of years to successfully arrange marriages. He has written this information into an amazing software program called “Compatibility Teller” that can enable even the layperson to know all about their relationships with others at the click of a button!
